Although there is a mystical aspect about playing in “the zone”, it is a level of peak performance that can be developed in players. By implementing ever-new techniques in a training schedule, an athlete can boost their abilities and increase their consistency playing at elite levels.
Elite performance occurs when an athlete learns to combine and maintain peak levels of body and mind ability. The combination of these enables the player to see their play more slowly, more intuitively and to perform game-after-game or tournament-after-tournament.
The chart below illustrates this idea. The example player may achieve optimal performances but the majority of the time they will play at a strong or good level. A program such as PPE will boost player’s performance abilities and improves the amount of time they reach their highest level of play.
